Call for Entries: Now Closed

Our open call for entries for 2014 projects is now closed. Selected projects and design firms will be announced in early 2014.

A NOTE ABOUT PROCESS
Generally speaking, our process proceeds in four basic steps:

1. Short list creation. From the nonprofit applications received, we create a short list of projects that are eligible, fit within our theme, and meet a number of other more qualitative criteria. (Late November – Mid-December)

2. Interviews and Site Visits. For each short listed project, we follow up with the applicant team to ask qualifying questions, and in most cases try to visit in person to discuss the project. We then create our final list of projects based on our findings. (Early January)

3. Matchmaking. Using the selected projects as a guideline, we review all submitted design applications and make the best matches possible, based on areas of interest and skillsets. Prior to finalizing, we present the project details to the matched design firm and they have final consideration as to whether the scope, focus, and deliverables are within their capabilities. (Mid-January)

4. Announcement and Kick-off. Once all the projects have been selected, we have a community gathering for everyone to meet, get to know their new teammates, and receive guidelines and general guidance for how to proceed. Each project is assigned a third-party advisor, who will shepherd them through this process. (Late January / Early February)

5. Design!
