desigNYC after Sandy: Extended Deadline NOV 14

A message to all desigNYCitizens,
We hope you’re all recovering slowly but surely from the recent events and today we are sending our warmest thoughts to all New Yorkers, and in particular to our friends working on a masterplan for the Rockaways Development and Revitalization Corporation. In light of Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath, we are extending desigNYC annual deadline to WED NOV 14, 11:59PM.

Nonprofits who haven’t yet had a chance to submit a project for a design service grant and local designers who’d like to give back to New York in the form of pro bono design talent, please apply now directly online.

We encourage you to think of design as a useful tool to rebuild your communities. We’d like to remind you of our original theme, Healthy Communities. Healthy communities seek to build healthy economies, sustainable environments and social networks, as well as diverse cultural and educational offerings.

But we’d like to invite any nonprofit that’s been affected by Sandy to interpret this year’s theme in the broadest sense and encourage you to apply for a design service grant if you need assistance with a design project that can engage audiences to your cause.

desigNYC looks forward to being a useful platform to help design and build a better, healthier New York.
